You are the Great God;
deserving of all devotion
yet you devote yourself to us,
deserving of all honour,
yet you honour us with your grace and presence,
deserving of all service,
yet you have taken on a servant’s nature for our sakes.
You are the Great God;
pure and peace-loving and gentle,
seeking us out when we get lost
in evil and strife and violence;
humble and wise and generous,
rescuing us from our own
arrogance and folly and selfishness.
You are the Great God;
in whose serving, peace-making, sacrificial image
we are created.
And we praise you.
