ALL OF US IN WONDERLAND
Going down the rabbit hole into God’s reign of love
Liturgical and Personal Spiritual Practice Guides for a six-week Pentecost season
After all we’ve been through in the last two and half years, most of us are ready for a change. We all know now that what was normal in our global society wasn’t working for anyone but a tiny, privileged few. We need to find another way of being. But for most of us, ‘immersed in the way things are,’ it’s very difficult to imagine what a different life and a different world could look like. It might seem like the dream of a better, more compassionate and connected world is nothing more than a wonderland of fantasy.
Â
But what if that wonderland is real? What if we really could dive down a metaphorical rabbit hole and discover a whole new wonderland world for all of us? Well, I believe that this is, essentially, what Jesus’ message of God’s reign of love was all about. And I believe that the experience of the Spirit that happened on the Day of Pentecost two thousands years ago was the rabbit hole that we need to enter God’s new world.
And that is why I am so excited to share this new Liturgical Guide for a six-week Pentecost Season: ALL OF US IN WONDERLAND—Going down the rabbit hole into God’s reign of love.

Week of 03 – 09 July 2022
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK Sometimes it can appear that those of us who focus on God's grace and forgiveness are "soft" on evil. It may even seem like we do not take evil seriously. But there is no question that the Gospel has some strong things to say about the need to resist evil. When Jesus encountered evil in the lives of people, he was quick and decisive to confront and eradicate it, but always with grace and forgiveness. Confronting evil was an integral part of the healing and [...]

24 July 2022 There can be no question that the work of faith, of receiving God's grace, and of following Christ in worship and service, is a life long journey of perseverance and faithfulness. And it is because of God's faithfulness toward us that we can even contemplate this life. But, if we will contemplate it, and if we can commit to the long haul, we will see change happening in us and we will see justice coming a little more to our world. May God's faithfulness inspire your [...]
